In the context of pandemics, public parks and sports courts were closed. An animated spotlight reproduces the illusion of a moving ball, returning life to an abandoned court.

Humanity is currently facing radical changes that have reframed our relationship to community and public space. Play has slowly become almost totally virtual – games have migrated to an invisible online place. Since March 2020, play’s shift from physical to virtual has been exacerbated. This basketball court, for example, was once a space for community, laughter and games. Now, seldom used to its full potential, it is just another vacant space in the city.

In basketball, 24 seconds is the amount of time a team can possess the ball before attempting to score. 24 Seconds is a light-based basketball game with no players, where the basketballs move without being touched. Join the audience, watch the game, and think back on all the times you have played.
